I think we should keep a tally, or start a drinking game or something. Everytime Mark Jackson says something and the absolute opposite happens, we drink.

Mark Jackson: Criticizing Bynum's D on Howard as Andrew Bynum blocks a running jump hook in the lane.

That game was hard to watch. I'm not a big fan of singling players out. But two things bothered me. One was Gasol getting out toughed for every single loose ball in crunch time. The other was the predictability of Kobe and everyone else kind of standing around watching. That drives me insane when our "team" does the exact opposite of what got them back in the game in the first place.

The zone defense last night by the Heat really really really seemed to confuse the offense.

I agree with Darius or whoever was tweeting for FB&G last night: The Lakers should have been overloading the strong-side to break the zone into man-on-man.

The team just didn't have their heads in the game. Looking ahead to Orlando?

1. as tough as our schedule is coming up, i just don't see dallas catching up with us. with 20 games to go, even if we go a pedestrian (for laker standards) 13-7 or 12-8. and i sure hell hope we don't. dallas would have have to go to 18-2 or 19-1 to get the number 1 seed and thats really unlikely. at 2-2 for the season series, the tiebreaker goes to i believe the conference record. and we're up 5 games on our conference record against dallas. so they would basically need a better record to get number 1, as a tie would not matter.

during our terrible run post-christmas, we went 13-7.... i personally am hoping for a 14-6, 15-5 record. which would put dallas at having to go perfect for the rest of the year....

it is looking though that dallas will be the number 2. their schedule is way easier than denver's...

My first comment but been a long time reader. Been a Laker fan ever since Phil first came to LA. Have to say, even though I will be a Laker supporter for life, I am beginning to question if the time all of us have taken away from our lives to watch this team play this season, is really worth the sacrifice. I have not seen a more dysfunctional Phil Jackson team. I hope they understand that people who support them do give up a lot to do so and if they do, then how come this team comes up with such lackadaisical games? They need to just play ball together. These guys seem shackled by God knows what right now.

We all understand the numbers from last night's game: missed FT's, low assists, high turnovers and KB's minutes played going into a back-to-back against the B-Cats...

But the number that most disturbs me is how close Dallas is getting to us in the standings (5 games back). Given their incredible winning streak, a very easy schedule this month and conversely, our very difficult schedule this month - I am beginning to worry.

If we don't take of the teams we should conceivably be beating, we could lose out on top seed and I don't think any of us want to see both Denver and Dallas in the playoffs...Top seed in the WC this year is so crucial and we're hanging onto it by a thread.

Here's to hoping we go 2-1 on this roadie
