Phil Jackson on Kobe's six game winning shots:

“That’s a sound number,” Lakers Coach Phil Jackson said, pausing a moment for effect. “I wish it was 12.”

So do we Phil, so do we! But then again this team is supposed to be so good that it shouldn't require these heroics from Kobe Bean Bryant, isnt it?

5. Craig W. Bynum has only been playing this way for 2 games. He sat 4th quarters previously because he was out of it and Pau was the better option - that's not on Phil.

Was at the game last night...should have never come down to that shot (though thankfully, KB bailed everyone out again).

Couldn't help notice that KB didn't take a moment to enjoy that shot, celebrate the win etc. He hit, he walked off the court, barely addressed his teammates and moved on...

That's exactly what the team, and we as fans, should do...move on. This was another lucky win and not the win we should have had given the significance.

It was interesting to note Phil's comment about pulling Andrew late in the 4th.."...he was gassed...".

Gee, if you play him few minutes in the 4th most nights - when the pressure is greatest and more tiring - exactly what do you expect when you need him?

I really don't know what Phil has been trying to prove to Andrew by giving him very few minutes in the 4th period of games, but it sure doesn't prepare him for those times we really need him.

Now that the days are getting short, shouldn't we be able to play the player who is clearly bringing more for most of the 4th qtr?

This part of the game is on you Phil!

Shannon shouldn't be allowed to dribble unless hes going in for a dunk on the fast break or dribbling to create a better passing angle

He also should be banned from shooting any pull up jumpers

Ed,

Shannon doesn't start because he can't pass, can't dribble that great, and isn't particularly a smart defender. Especially the passing though. Too many times he takes his dribble between the legs jumper because he *can't* make a proper entry pass, or is TOO SLOW in trying to make the entry pass at the right time.

Fish has his faults, but Shannon hasn't been good enough to start over him, nor Farmar. He's a good change of pace off the bench. Something that Fish, most likely, could not provide.

I don't want to make it seem like I'm slamming Shannon. I'm not. I like the kid, but he's just not a starter. If and when Fish is playing decent, he's the better option. I know that's far and few between though.

Phil,

Everything's went downhill for Pau after I proclaimed him the MVP lol...

Question, how good would a shooting PG have looked in a Lakers uniform? (Hinrich maybe?) Why doesn't Shannon Brown just start? These are the things I don't understand about The Lake Show. Someone please enlighten me.

bynum has a chance to build on his play the next couple games with no real centers on the horizon. the numbers are nice, but he clearly does not get enough coaching. too many simple mistakes. it was good to see his teammates giving him some encouragement on the floor, especially on the defensive end. If the playoffs started today, I would be worried. There's enough time to get a little momentum going, but we're going to need more help from the bench, especially on the defensive end. farmar is just pathetic.
