In this episode of the Laker Film Room Podcast, Pete and I an inside look at the Lakers with team employee and co-host of The Official Lakers Podcast, Aaron Larsuel.
Aaron, who has also worked for the Portland Trailblazers and Golden State Warriors, gives us a look at the team from someone who is inside the organization, travels with the team on the road, and has built up relationships with many of the key figures within the operations side of the team.
We get into the leadership dynamics of the team, insight into the interactions between LeBron and AD, how new head coach Frank Vogel might differ in style from former coach Luke Walton, how the change in a mostly young team last season to a mostly veteran one this year has impacted the vibe around the team, and much much more.
Aaron also got into what it’s like on the road with the team and even offered up a good story on a late game situation in Dallas vs. the Mavs that involved AD, Vogel, and LeBron and how they were going to cover a specific action vs. Luka and Porzingis.
This was a really good conversation from the perspective of someone who is around the team every day, but also who has experience withing other organizations that can help shape a bigger picture view of how different (or not) this team is and what it’s truly like being inside an organization with the history and expectations of this one.
