The Lakers came out on opening night, collected their rings in a touching ceremony that saw the players’ families virtually present them their rings, and then go out and lose to the Clippers. In this episode of the Laker Film Room Podcast, me, Pete, and Mike discuss it all.
One thing before getting to the pod — I’m never happy about a loss and don’t want to make excuses when the team plays poorly. That said, the context of this night and this game combined with the benefit of the doubt that should be afforded LeBron and AD (both of whom played blah games) mean that we’re collectively not really concerned with what the team showed on Tuesday.
That said, we do dive into some of the schematic, matchup, and player performance things that we saw which led to the loss and offer up a couple of questions about how much of what we saw was real and potentially lasting and how much of it should just be swept aside.
This was a good discussion and I hope you enjoy it. You can listen to the full pod below.
