In the 2nd quarter of the Lakers loss to the Warriors, Brook Lopez rolled his ankle severely and had to be helped off the court and back to the lockerroom. X-rays taken that night were negative, but an MRI revealed a sprained ankle. Lopez will be reevaluated in 3 weeks, so the Lakers will be […]
When Larry Nance broke his hand in early November, I thought he could be out up to 2 months. Even an aggressive timeline said it could be 4-6 weeks. Turns out, a little over 3 weeks later, he’s set to return to the Lakers lineup when the Lakers play the Clippers tonight.
Maybe this was a partnership always destined to fail. Maybe signing a player with as much mileage to a contract so large, there would never be a good ending. Still, though, ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne reporting that the Lakers and Luol Deng are exploring their options to find him a new home are…if not a surprise, […]
The Lakers lost more than a game to the Blazers on Thursday night, they lost their starting power forward too. Larry Nance Jr. broke his hand when committing a foul on Portland big man Caleb Swannigan. Correction from the Lakers re: Larry Nance, Jr.: “X-rays were positive for fracture of the 2nd metacarpal – left […]
Today the Lakers announced they have picked up the options on Brandon Ingram and Larry Nance Jr. for the 2018-19 season. A perfunctory move, it would be more telling if they did not to pick up 3rd and 4th year options for the young players. At the very least, their creditors are surely cheering the news.
The Lakers season begins tomorrow, but their overall health and player availability has been a key storyline over the last couple of days. While Lonzo Ball made it known he would he would play, Julius Randle’s intercostal strain and Andrew Bogut’s groin issues have made their status unknown. That, though, is no longer true.
The reigning G League MVP, Vander Blue, is returning to the Lakers. Again. According to Yahoo! Sports’ Shams Charania the young guard has signed a two way contract to rejoin the team. Part of the final round of training camp cuts, Vander stayed in Los Angeles because it was inevitable that he would once again […]
Preseason is behind us. We’ve counted the stats and learned a few things in the process. But, come Thursday, the real games start. The question is, what will be the Lakers starting lineup? We still don’t know. The question of who will start at power forward is still unknown. We have our opinions, but Luke […]
A tough string of Lakers injury news continued for Josh Hart Monday when he left practice with an Achilles strain. An MRI has been scheduled to determine the extent of the injury. This most recent injury comes on the heels of ankle and hamstring injuries that have followed him from Las Vegas Summer League to […]
With the NBA season starting within the week, the Lakers waived Vander Blue, Briante Weber, and Travis Wear per a press release Saturday. The roster now stands at 16, with no other cuts expected (Alex Caruso, the 16th player on the roster is on a two-way contract and does not need to be cut). No […]
