There’s been a lot of site news lately. We have new contributors. We’ll be redesigning the site and have implemented a new commenting platform. We’re the first Lakers blog to be nominated for a Pulitzer Prize. Okay, that last one isn’t true. Yet. We’re working on it, though.
We’re not done making changes, either. In fact, we want to make more of them. And you could be a part of that. We are looking for new contributors at the site. We want to continue to add to our team and, like the Lakers, are looking to free agency to fill out our roster.
If there’s one thing that is the driver of what we have done — and will continue to try to do — here at FB&G, it’s to be a place where we can bring as much nuance and add as much value in our analysis to what is happening with the Lakers day in and day out. From doing game breakdowns to roster analysis to coaching commentary to news aggregation to discussion of the latest rumors, we want to look at all the angles and engage in discussions that you cannot find anywhere else.
If you want to be a part of that, to help with that, we want to hear from you. We want to continue to build and grow this site into something great while always being mindful of the ethos and spirit of what Kurt Helin founded nearly 13 years ago. I’ve tried to do that since I took over the site nearly 8 years ago and in the recent additions we’ve made, I hope to keep in that tradition.
Now, I hope, we can continue to do so by adding to our team. If you think you’re a fit for that, get at us. Please contact us at forumbluegoldwriters@gmail.com, and include a brief note about yourself, why you want to write for the site, and 2-3 writing samples that best represent who you are as a writer.
Lastly, we are looking for a steady contributor who can write on a daily basis. There is always room for some flexibility, but as the old sports saying goes, the best ability is availability. We look forward to hearing from you.
