I believe that Lonzo Ball will go down as one of the great passers that the game has ever seen. He possesses the vision and ability to distribute with either hand that is reminiscent of Magic Johnson, John Stockton, LeBron James, Larry Bird, Jason Kidd, Steve Nash, and the list of comparable passers doesn’t extend much further beyond that. He puts his own stamp on his position as well, throwing outlets and hit aheads with accuracy and frequency that may be unprecedented.
In Volume 1 of this recurring Laker Film Room series, I document every pass that Lonzo Ball made in the first week of his rookie season that created an advantage. Maybe it was an assist, maybe it was a hockey assist, maybe it led to free throws, or maybe his teammate missed the shot, but if it created an opportunity for his team, it’s in the video.
The goal of Laker Film Room is to provide Lakers fans with consistent, thoughtful content that helps you enjoy the game on a deeper level. I’m able to do that because I don’t work for a publication that demands that I cover the most sensational material, which typically gets the most views and clicks. As a result, I rely on the support of Lakers fans to help me produce my work. If you believe in what I do, please considering support my work on either Venmo or Patreon.
