In this episode of the Laker Film Room Podcast, Pete and I talk about the Lakers 6 game winning streak and some of the characteristics this team is showing that remind us of some of the really good Lakers teams of the past.
This pod covers a lot of ground as we get into different traits both of us are seeing, but a couple of the key ones highlighted are resiliency and defense, both of which have shown up in several of the Lakers recent wins during their current streak. We particularly highlight some of the comeback wins and poise in close games the team has shown while getting into LeBron’s defense and how important it’s been when adding that to what the team’s big men and guards have brought to the table.
Later in the pod we also get into whether there are things we are seeing which give us pause and question whether the ceiling of this team is truly at the championship contender level or if they may actually be closer to a 2nd round or conference finalist team. A couple of the areas raised here are shooting and wing defense and how this could all be impacted further by how the long term rotation plays out.
Overall, this was a good discussion and reflects how we’re both feeling about the Lakers during what’s been a fantastic stretch of play to begin the season. I hope you’ll enjoy this one as much as we did. You can listen to the full episode below or wherever you get your podcast downloads.
