In this episode of the Laker Film Room Podcast, Pete, Mike, and I discuss the Lakers roster heading into free agency. We dive into the decision to waive Quinn Cook, Avery Bradley opting out of his contract, and JaVale McGee opting in.
We also look at team needs considering the shape of the roster on the dawn of what looks to be a very fast moving free agent period, who of the team’s own free agents they should be prioritzing, and whether there’s players currently under contract who we think should be given bigger opportunities to play larger roles considering the team’s needs.
Then, later in the pod we get into news from around the NBA, including Klay Thompson’s devastating injury and the moves western conference teams have made + how those moves reposition those teams withing the conference hierarchy.
