From the Mark Heisler article this morning:
“You know, I just wanted it so bad,” Bryant said of his Game 7 flameout. “I wanted it so, so bad.
“On top of that, I was on E. Man, I was really, really tired….”
Just realized that he meant that the reason for his bad game was because his tank was on empty, and not because he was rolling balls.

I hate that people focus on Kobe’s bad game and imply that somehow this should be viewed as a blemish on his legacy. I guess they forget that the dude is playing WITH A BROKEN FINGER AND A BUM KNEE THAT REQUIRES DRAINING. Geez.

Love that kobe called out shaq not once but three times! Each interview he mentioned it. Hilarious! Also when he called stephen A who is mia now

Do we know who got the game ball? I’m kind of hoping they gave it to Ron. Kobe might be the Finals MVP, but Game 7 MVP was Ron Artest.

@Pat, I was thinking the same thing when I read that! Thanks for the clarification — you’d think Kobe is high-strung enough!
@4: I’m totally waiting for a double team rip fest between Kobe, Michael Cooper, and Stephen A. The way he was eulogizing, man…

Ron Artest’s post game interview will go into the annals of basketball history.

3. People can focus on Kobe’s bad game all they want. But we can always look at things from a different perspective.
The team who had the most rebounds won every game of the finals.
With the lakers down in the series 2-3.
Kobe grabbed 26 rebounds in the final 2 games. I don’t believe kobe has ever had that many rebounds in 2 consecutive playoff games in his career. They say kobe bryant has a blemish on his legacy because of a bad offensive game. I say, we say that guy does what ever it takes to win a game. He averaged 5 rebounds per game in the regular season, he average 13 in the final 2 games and the lakers are champs.
