    Thanks, Kobe, for what you gave me as a fan: the good, the bad, and the ugly. Have to admit there’s only a handful of players in any sport that made me as emotionally invested in a team as you did. A testament to your brilliance, dedication, belief in yourself, and showmanship.

    Thanks Kobe… and Vitti, too. A Black Mamba-esque game and Vitti being able to relax would qualify as a solid finale for the circumstances.

    As the moment aproaches my emotions are starting to get to me. Is really happening isn’t it? He and Magic are the two best Lakers ever and unlike Magic, Kobe will retire on his own terms. I expect at least 30 shots tonight. His departure leaves a giant hole in the NBA. For me he is the last of his kind, the last truly alpha male. Giant ego,massive A-hole, uncoachable, hero for us, villain for everybody else and he was ours. Laker true and thru. Even if this is necessary for our beloved Lakers to move foward i will cry when the final curtain falls I admit it. Goodbye Black Mamba, you will be gone but not forgotten…
