Watch: Kobe Bryant Highlights from the 2015-16 Season

July 28, 2016 by Darius Soriano

Moving on from Kobe Bryant is both difficult and exciting. For the first time in 20 years the Lakers will not have him in the lineup and that changes the calculus of how you build a roster, deploy lineups, and even talk about what to expect out of the season.

I, for one, will miss Kobe but will also look forward to the next chapter in Lakers’ basketball. We have already gotten a glimpse of what that will look like this past summer, but the real journey begins in earnest this fall.

Until then, though, I will happily take in some flashes of glory from Kobe’s final season. And thanks to @DawkinsMTA we get a taste of some Kobe’s best plays from his 20th and final campaign:

Yes, I get these are cherry picked plays. I think we all understand Kobe’s season wasn’t nearly as good as the clips above might imply. But, it’s a highlight reel, what did you expect? Still, I loved seeing Kobe perform well and give us a reminder, no matter how fleeting, of what he could be as a player. I can’t wait for part two of these videos.

hey darius:  your kobe highlights bring to mind that 5th and Figueroa is where the Kobe Bryant statue should be erected;  caddy corner from the Ernst and Young building in downtown Los Angeles.  zillions have been made off the Kobe Bryant brand;  accountants notwithstanding.  what’s the hold up? I ask.

Happy friday and thanks for keeping us connected.

    Go lakers

OT:  “Today’s players simply don’t have the skills to play the triangle.”– from espn article, interview with Charley Rosen, (Phil’s mouthpiece).

Ugh, so . . . . why are you insisting that Hornacek run the triangle?
( Jeez, so glad he’s their problem!)
