Game Preview

I’m going to be honest with you, as I type this sentence, the Lakers are scheduled to tip off their game in 92 minutes. I am, then, cutting this a bit close. This is what happens when all the days run together during a pandemic…you mistake a Thursday for a Wednesday even though you totally […]

The Lakers have problems to get over and not a lot of time to clear the bar before the playoffs start. And while there’s arguments to be made about whether they can simply start to care more and try harder or if there are bigger structural concerns, I think everyone would start to feel better […]

In their 3rd game of the NBA restart, the Lakers take on the Jazz today. After a nice win over the Clippers and a not so nice loss to the Raptors, the Lakers are 1-1 and look….okay, I guess? Their defense has been mostly good, their offense has mostly struggled–especially from behind the arc. The […]

After beating the Clippers on Thursday, the Lakers are right back at it today in a matchup with the Raptors. The every other day nature of games in the bubble should allow for the teams to stay in rhythm, but teams must also be careful not to ramp up too quickly and put too much […]

The NBA is officially…back? Yes. Yes it is. Well, sort of. The NBA’s bubble is up and thriving — or at least working as intended. Testing for COVID-19 has been rigorous and the results from the latest round of all players returned zero positives. Teams are becoming whole again as players who had not yet […]

After a wonderful weekend of beating two of the best teams in the NBA, the Lakers are back in action vs. the Nets on Tuesday. The Nets who just mutually agreed Kenny Atkinson into unemployment, the Nets who recently announced Kyrie Irving would miss the rest of the year, the Nets who just put DeAndre […]

Whenever the Lakers play the Clippers, there’s always this urge to talk about all these different angles and work through what’s important, but I’m going to keep this short and to the point: go win the game. The Lakers beat the Bucks on Friday, which was fantastic. I’d very much like to see the same […]

If you want a pretty in-depth breakdown of this game, I suggest you listen to the most recent Laker Film Room Podcast. Pete and I went long on the Bucks in our preview pod of the Bucks/Clippers games, so that is definitely worth your time. Here’s a Cliff’s Notes version, though: Build a wall in […]
