Happy Thanksgiving from FB&G

November 26, 2015 by Darius Soriano

I just want to take a moment to offer all of you and yours a happy Thanksgiving from FB&G. The Lakers may not be a very good team right now, but those of you who follow the site and are part of the community, who make this site what it is continue to make the season more enjoyable than it otherwise would be. For that, I am thankful.

Today is a day for family and, it should be noted, that to many of us the Lakers occupy a space in our lives very similar to our actual kin. We invite them into our lives daily, be it through watching the games, following them online, or reading them in print. And while we might not always like how things go, we keep following because we want to see them do well and hope what comes next will be better than what came before it.

This season has not offered much of that, but I am still thankful for it all. And, again, I am thankful for all of you who continue to support me, the site, and the team we all root for. We may not always agree, but we do this together. So, happy Thanksgiving to you all and have a safe and fruitful holiday.

Thank you Darius and everybody else who contributes! I am glad the Lakers have genuine talent for the future, and I am happy that this version of Kobe is only a small fragment of the player we have gotten to know.

Happy Thanksgiving, guys! Thanks for the great community. Starting again next week, I’m gonna probably need more Lil Pau snarkisms to wipe away my Kobe airball tears.

    Happy Thanksgiving, FB&G!

Darius, thank you for this site!

Brighter days are a few years away. Poseidon Adventure.

There’s got to be a morning after
If we can hold on through the night
We have a chance to find the sunshine
Let’s keep on looking for the light
Oh, can’t you see the morning after?
It’s waiting right outside the storm
Why don’t we cross the bridge together
And give each other hope while we wait at FB&G?

I live in Denver and don’t get to watch many Lakers games these days. The team isn’t good enough for me to justify the NBA League Pass. I read FB&G daily to keep up, and I’m very thankful for all of the work done on this site and the contributions from everyone. This is one of the most civil and knowledgeable blogs around. Thank you, Darius. Best wishes to all.

I’m a day late and a dollar short, but wanted to thank Darius et al, too, for all of their hard work and insights. These days I’m finding the blog as or more interesting than the actual games. That said, here’s to improvement and big changes as the season progresses! Happy Thanksgiving to all!!

    Back to matters at hand.

Sports Insights just tweeted their NBA Rookie of the Year Odds

    Towns +100
    Porzingis +225
    Okafor +250
    Mudiay +700
    Russell +1600
    Winslow +2500

These early odds are probably accurate. But the season is young. Russell’s shooting (aka his ability to score) and passing will move him up should he ever get a consistent 30+ minutes a night with the ball in his hands.
