Game Preview

I’ve no clue what to expect from the Lakers tonight when they return to action vs. the Pacers after a much needed 9 days off over the All-Star break. LeBron James tells us “it’s go time” for him and that he expects to begin his ramp up for the playoffs now. So, that’s good news. […]

Whatever momentum the Lakers had heading into Tuesday’s game vs. the Suns was lost along with the game itself, under a barrage of made 3’s from Phoenix. The Lakers had been playing well, but their defense let them down across the board, from the perimeter to the paint. No one exempt from these issues, but […]

Are the Lakers back? The 4 game losing streak they suffered feels distant now. The 2 recent wins over the Blazers and the Warriors offered a return of what, I think, makes this Lakers team special. The aggressive point of attack defense, the commitment to transition offense, and the constant assault on the rim were […]

The Lakers face off vs. the Warriors on Sunday night, only two days after Dennis Schröder’s return helped the team snap their 4 game losing streak with a win over Portland on Friday. Schröder’s return cannot be overstated in terms of helpfulness and spark provided, and the hope is that he can carry that over […]

I sound like a broken record at this point, I know. The Lakers play the Blazers tonight and, again, it would not surprise me if things do not go well. The Blazers have lost 3 in a row now, but before that they’d won 8 of 9 with two wins over Philly. They’re much closer […]

Look, when the Lakers play the Jazz on Wednesday night I fully expect them to lose. Not only to lose, but to get their asses kicked. The Lakers, as I’ve mentioned multiple times recently, are not good. The Jazz, meanwhile, are playing some of the best basketball in the entire league. Those two things would […]

It’s rare that I’d call any regular season game a “must win”. This is particularly true when the expectations for a team are to contend (if not win) a championship. Certain games can matter more than others, but must win? Nah. Tonight, when the Lakers face off against the Wizards, then, I’m not going to […]

For a Finals rematch, I have incredibly little to say about today’s matchup between the Lakers and the Heat. Some of that is Miami related as they’re still working to dig themselves out of an early season hole that saw COVID related absences and injury ravage their roster and keep them without their normal lineup […]

Tonight the Lakers and the Nets play at STAPLES Center. The game, to say the least, is highly anticipated. It does not matter that Anthony Davis (achilles/calf) and Kevin Durant (hamstring) are both out with injury. It does not matter that neither team is playing their best basketball right now. Many view this as a […]

So….yeah. I take one game off for some family time and not only do the Lakers lose to the Nuggets, they lose Anthony Davis to injury — reportedly a re-aggravation of his achilles tendinosis and a calf strain. AD will be out for several weeks, and maybe longer per sourced reporting. Obviously, none of this […]
